Since 2010, Randy Eastburg has served as the owner of Valley Ridge Roofing and Construction in Flower Mound, Texas. When he isn’t working, Randy Eastburg cheers on Texas-based professional sports teams like the Dallas Cowboys.
The Dallas Cowboys recently locked up eight of their nine picks from the 2017 draft to rookie contracts, ensuring they would be free of salary distractions before their first practices at the team’s rookie camp. Since the rookie salary cap was enacted under the latest collective bargaining agreement, contract negotiations haven’t been much of an ordeal for most teams, but it is somewhat unusual for a team to have this many picks already under contract before they ever practice.
First-round draft pick Taco Charlton was the first to sign his rookie contract, with Chidobe Awuzie, Ryan Switzer, Marquez White, Noah Brown, Xavier Woods, Joey Ivie, and Jordan Carrell following suit. Coming off a 13-3 regular season and a divisional round loss to the Green Bay Packers, the Cowboys hope these rookies can help the team land a spot in next year’s Super Bowl.
